Romantic period

The first signs of individualitiy came in expressionist works laid on with a rapid brush-stroke, in the spirit of an architectonic attachment to legend, and enthusiasm for nature giving rise to Wagneresque works with such titles as 'St. George and the Dragon', 'Bared Tree Root', 'Mountain and Waterfall', 'Medusa'. This phase has lasted until 1965.
